Bernard D. Holst

President

Bernard D. Holst, as President of Aegean Energy Group, has over four decades of experience in the wind industry. Bernie's expertise includes designing, developing, and constructing over 6 gigawatts (GW) of wind projects in the United States and Canada.

Bernie's career began in 1981 at the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute (HNEI) as a Technical Specialist, where he honed his skills before moving to Battelle Northwest Labs in Richland, Washington. His significant contributions continued at SeaWest WindPower from 1992 to 2002, focusing on wind project design and technology assessment.

From 2002 to 2006, Bernie served as President of Garrad Hassan America, where his responsibilities included commercial and technical due diligence for banks, managing project operations and maintenance (O&M), wind resource assessment in the U.S., and overseeing the company's System Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) development.

After joining Padoma Wind Power, an NRG Energy subsidiary, in 2006 as Senior Vice President of Operations, Bernie moved to Enel Green Power North America as Director of Engineering and Construction. He managed the design and construction of over 1 GW of wind projects there. Before founding Aegean Energy Group, he was Executive Vice President of Operations at Cielo Wind Services, where he oversaw construction management for seven wind projects totaling more than 1.3 GW.

His journey in the wind industry, culminating in establishing the Aegean Energy Group, underscores his commitment to fostering sustainable wind energy solutions. Bernie's extensive expertise and leadership are crucial in advancing the green energy sector.
